Super Bowl champs go digital with Avid

Avid’s Media Composer Adrenaline system will be used for editing and finishing a variety of local, football-related programs for Kraft Sports Productions.

Kraft Sports Productions, the production company for the New England Patriots and other Kraft family businesses, has selected a digital post-production system from Avid Technology to help produce its weekly football programming. The new production environment will be used to create a range of programs, including “Patriots: All Access,” a series broadcast on ABC-affiliate WCVB-TV.

To streamline its production process and handle the thousands of hours of footage captured for each show, Kraft has installed an Avid Unity MediaNetwork shared-storage system, connected to an Avid AirSpeed system for ingesting media, an Avid Xpress Pro and several Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems for video editing and finishing.

With footage and clips stored on the Unity MediaNetwork system, the new post-production workflow will enable Kraft Sports Productions to take advantage of a shared-media environment, allowing multiple editors in different locations to work simultaneously — and in real-time.
