Sprint launches faster EvDO service

Sprint has upgraded its Power Vision Network with the faster EvDO Revision A technology in San Diego, making it the first market in the country where the technology is available.

EvDO Revision A will offer average upload speeds of 300 to 400kb/s and average download speeds of 450 to 800kb/s. The new technology provides TV crews in the field with a faster wireless technology to transfer raw footage and edited packages.

The company has announced it plans to launch the EvDO Revision A technology in 20 other markets this year, including: Baltimore; Boston; Buffalo, NY; Denver; Harford, CT; Kansas City, MO; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Milwaukee; New York City; Newark/Trenton, NJ; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Providence, RI; Sacramento, CA; Salt Lake City; San Francisco; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.
