Sony Shoots 'Joey' In 24p
NBC Show "Joey" featuring former "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc, is being shot during its second season with the Sony CineAlta 24p with the HDW-F900 camcorder.

The Sony CineAlta HDW-F900 4:2:2 system acquires, records and plays back 1080-line 24/25/30 frame progressive or 50/60 interlace images, and offers color control options, paint functions, contrast range and detail. Sony HDCAM videotape was used throughout the production.

Director of photography for the show, Nick McLean, served as camera operator for Steven Spielberg's "Sugarland Express" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and also in "Marathon Man" and "The Deer Hunter." His television work includes "Friends" and "Veronica's Closet." Digital imaging technician, Derek Grover, and McLean are using the same setup for "Hot Properties," a new ABC series about four women working in a Manhattan real estate practice that debuts Oct. 7.
