Sony Optical Disc honored with Peter Wayne Award at IBC2003

Sony’s Professional Optical Disc has won the Peter Wayne Award presented by the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers at IBC2003. The judges also nominated the LV5700 with FS3018 Lighting Monitor software from Leader and FreeSpeak intercom system from Drake Electronics to receive Recognition of Excellence awards.

Making the presentation, David Bradshaw, BBC Digital TV Test Centre, noted that almost all of the entries this year reflected the convergence of IT and broadcasts technologies.

The eventual short list included Nitris from Avid Technology and the TH-42PWD6EX and solid-state camcorder for professional A/V news recording from Panasonic.
