Snell & Wilcox installs four production switchers at Global TV

Snell & Wilcox has installed four Kahuna multiformat production switchers at Canada’s Global TV for its nationwide HD news launch.

The Kahuna switchers handle both SD and HD video and can upconvert to HD internally, which was a major consideration for Global TV because it will be receiving SD video from local news sources across Canada. The Kahuna switchers will be used to control continuous streams of local news broadcasts, interlaced with a national news show, that air at multiple times throughout the day to accommodate the various local time zones.
