SmartVideo extends reach in SmartPhone market with distribution solution

SmartVideo Technologies announced June 29 that it has certified a solution for distribution of live and on-demand video content to cellular SmartPhones using Symbian operating systems. The distribution solution extends SmartVideo’s reach from less than 10 percent of the SmartPhone market to more than 75 percent.

SmartVideo’s cellular solutions provide for live and on-demand video streaming.

An In-Stat/MDR report on mobile video services lists breaking news, children’s programming and sports among the key factors driving the growth of video on mobile phones.

SmartVideo is in discussion with major content owners in these venues, developing strategies to distribute their content to this rapidly emerging market.
