SmartJog selects Vela’s CineView Pro XLE decoder

Vela's MPEG-2 decoder, the CineView Pro XLE, is now deployed in more than 100 receivers as part of SmartJog's digital content distribution service.

SmartJog stores video programs as digital files and then delivers them via satellite to broadcasters, who can view the material for screening purposes or full broadcast-quality distribution. The decoder features SMPTE time code output, embedded audio within the SDI output stream, digital video output, Dolby Digital audio decoding, genlock support and control of on-screen display.

The half-rack-sized CineView Pro XLE is available in 4:2:0 and 4:2:2. It is installable in virtually all Pentium-class PCs with a PCI bus. Developer tools include a 32-bit Windows COM software developer's kit, sample MPEG player application and sample MPEG-2 video clips. A Linux API and device drivers are also available.
