SkyStream unveils video headend with eight MPEG-4 AVC encoders

SkyStream Networks has introduced a video headend to incorporate eight MPEG-4 AVC encoders in 1RU.

The new iPlex video headend platform includes comprehensive video encoding, processing and routing functionality.

The product supports MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoding in the same chassis and supports any telco, satellite or cable “last mile” in use today. It allows telcos, satellite operators or cable companies to build a complete headend for small or medium-sized video service deployments.
