Shield Law Moves Ahead
NAB has called for quick action in the House on a federal shield law.

The broadcast association was reacting to a vote this week in the House Judiciary Committee in support of legislation that would create a shield law to protect journalists and their confidential sources.

"The Free Flow of Information Act of 2007" was introduced by three Republican and three Democratic House members. A bipartisan group of senators is co-sponsoring legislation in the Senate.
