SBE Releases 5th Edition of TV Operator's Handbook
The Society of Broadcast Engineers recently published the fifth edition of its TV Operator's Certification Handbook, written by Fred Baumgartner and Doug Garlinger. The book is used as part of the SBE's certification program.

The new edition covers updated technology and broadcast practices, including centralized broadcasting and the Children's Television Act. Television operators who read the book can take a test to earn the SBE's Certified Television Operator designation, which was designed to help establish a benchmark of technical skill.
