RTNDF announces latest News and Terrorism Workshop

The Radio and Television News Directors Foundation (RTNDF) has announced the next in its series of News and Terrorism Workshops, which will be held Jan. 13, 2009, in Las Vegas.

Former CNN anchor Aaron Brown will moderate the workshop. The event will be the 15th such workshop produced since 2004. Each workshop has a local orientation in which members of the media and government authorities discuss how they would deal with a terrorist scenario if one directly impacted their community.

The workshop aims to achieve three goals: promoting an understanding among the media and authorities about each other’s needs and demands; determining the preferred means of communications during an incident; providing contact information and networks to enhance coverage and understanding of such events.
