Rohde & Schwarz to supply transmitters for Qualcomm MediaFLO


The liquid-cooled NV7000 transmitter series includes built-in redundancy with two complete exciters.
Rohde & Schwarz will supply its NV7000 transmitters for Qualcomm’s Forward Link Only (FLO) technology for the MediaFLO network. The network will deliver a variety of video and audio programming to mobile phones by the end of 2006.

The liquid-cooled NV7000 transmitter series includes built-in redundancy with two complete exciters that feature an automatic switchover unit. Each of the integrated LDMOS high-power amplifiers has a power supply.

The network, based on the MediaFLO system, will deliver up to 100 channels of high-quality video and audio programming to third-generation (3G) mobile phones.
