RF Extreme transmitters help live “Makeover”

RF Central, a supplier of Gigawave RF equipment, provided two RF Extreme camera-mount transmitter links (RFX-CMT) for video crew members shooting a newly renovated house in Pennsylvania for ABC's local edition of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”.

The company worked at a home in Mechanicsburg, PA, with a crew from ABC affiliate WHTM-TV, Channel 27, in Harrisburg.

The RF systems were used to avoid running audio, video and power cables throughout the home during the live shoot. Two photographers moved freely from room to room in order to provide seamless coverage.

RF Central, who provided personnel on the location, said the wireless system was set up in a matter of minutes. Signals easily penetrated the home's brick walls and a large fire truck directly between the receivers and the camera-mounted transmitters.
