Omneon to introduce new hardware at IBC

Omneon Video Networks is adding a new hardware component to its Media Server System line at IBC2003. The new module can be integrated into current Omneon Media Server System configurations, or it can be combined to make a fully capable, six-channel playout server with up to 72 hours of 12-Mbps video, in only three rack units.

The MULTIPORT MIP 3000 series is a new line of media interface adapters. It provides playout for up to six channels of MPEG-2 video (each with up to 16 audio channels) within a single 1-RU device. It supports a range of configurations, including three- or six-channel playout.
