Omneon launches several enhancements to SPECTRUM server line

Omneon announced several smaller enhancements to its line of SPECTRUM servers designed for working on high-definition imaging and creation.,

Omneon's SPECTRUM media server

First, changes to the SDTI media interface adapter (MIP 1002 MEDIAPORT) will allow Omneon SPECTRUM users to support Panasonic’s compressed HD format, DVCPRO 100.

With this addition to the product line, the SPECTRUM becomes the first media server capable of supporting all HD formats simultaneously, including MPEG, HDCAM, and DVCPRO 100. The company introduced native support for MXF across its entire line of media servers, giving customers the choice to select either QuickTime or MXF as the media wrapper format for material stored within an Omneon system.

The move also negated the need for format conversion or transcoding when working with the new MXF format. Additional enhancements strengthened the SPECTRUM server line’s production, archiving and distribution capabilities. For more informationgo to www.omneon.com.
