Olympics coverage gets mobile treatment

Verizon Communications has announced that it will carry NBC’s Summer Olympic Games coverage on FiOS, its fiber network, and on its V CAST mobile and broadband platforms. The Olympics content includes schedules, news, photos and highlights.

The telco will also carry four NBCU basic cable networks on FiOS. Those include Bravo HD, CNBC+ HD, USA Network HD and Sci Fi HD. The HD services will be added over several months region by region. FiOS already carries NBC HD and Universal HD.

Among the VOD offerings, FiOS TV’s library will stock NBC’s daily highlight clips in SD and HD. Broadband customers will receive live streams of more than 20 Olympic sports. And V CAST customers will have access to NBC video clips.
