Oklahoma Educational TV selects Sundance Digital for automation

The Sundance Digital Titan system will drive a RAID protected multichannel video server from Omneon Video networks, as well as a variety of Panasonic and Sony VTRs.
The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA), a statewide public television network, is making the transition to digital operations with a Sundance Digital Titan automation system.

OETA is moving from an analog system to a digital infrastructure with multichannel master control operations. The on-air launch is scheduled for later this year.

OETA operates a state public television network that includes full-power facilities in Tulsa, Cheyenne and Eufala, OK, from its central facility in Oklahoma City. It operates four digital, HD channels. Turnkey project integration services are being provided by SignaSys, a broadcast systems integration and consulting firm in San Jose, CA.

The Titan will drive a RAID protected multichannel video server from Omneon Video networks, as well as a variety of Panasonic and Sony VTRs. In addition to Titan, OETA will install the Sundance’s Intelli-Sat broadcast manager to schedule and record satellite feeds. Playlists of five channels — four DTV plus one mix of SD and HD — will be controlled by the Titan system. It will also be tightly integrated with the public broadcaster’s Traffic and PSIP interfaces.
