NBA Digital Taps NewTek TriCaster for All-Star Jam
NBA Digital has selected NewTek TriCaster portable live production system to produce fan fantasy NBA TV sportscaster segments during the NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Phoenix Convention Center, Feb. 12–16. NewTek will also demo multichannel, HD, instant replay device at NBA D-League practice Feb. 13.

The sportscaster segments intersperse fan play-by-play with commentary from network personalities Ahmad Rashad and Gary Payton who appear on NBA TV’s studio show “GameTime” every Tuesday night. Fans can view their performances online.

NewTek will also demonstrate 3PLAY multichannel, HD, instant replay and slow motion system live from a NBA Development League (NBA D-League) practice during NBA All-Star Week. The presentation, which includes shots of the NBA D-League practice and interviews from NewTek and NBA executives, will be streamed using TriCaster.

“As many as 100,000 fans can capture the excitement of the NBA All-Star Game in a very unique way with this NBA TV sportscaster promotion at NBA Jam Session,” said Shawn Smith, vice president, sales and marketing, chief marketing officer, NBA D-League. “NewTek TriCaster allows us to quickly set up a network-style broadcast set in a small space that we can rely on for nonstop use throughout the entire five-day event.”
