N2 Broadband's MediaPath now distributes HD content for VOD

N2 Broadband's MediaPath product now enables content providers to deliver high-definition television content to cable operators for VOD services.

In Demand, a major PPV and VOD distributor, will be the first content provider to offer HD content using the enhanced MediaPath system.

To support HD services, MediaPath was optimized to enable the transfer of content files more than five times the size of a standard definition movie file.

Currently, MediaPath has more than 450 commercial deployments, reaching more than six million VOD-enabled cable subscribers. MediaPath distributes and manages VOD content for clients that include HBO, In Demand, Starz Encore Group, Global Digital Media Xchange and others. It is deployed by cable systems that include Bright House Networks, Cablevision Systems, Comcast Cable, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable.
