MobiTV, Media Excel join to enable 3G, 4G video delivery to service providers

MobiTV and Media Excel have partnered to jointly offer service providers advanced video delivery capabilities to enable next-generation video over mobile and broadband networks.

The joint solution combines MobiTV’s Optimized Delivery Server high-capacity video delivery with Media Excel’s video encoding and transcoding appliances, providing a platform that service providers can use to offer subscribers premium video services over 3G, 4G and broadband networks.

“Many of our customers are looking to us to provide broadcast-quality, high-availability IP video systems for new mobile and broadband video networks, and we want to shorten the time to market for these services by integrating industry-leading transcoding technologies that will enable the rapid delivery of a complete IP Video solution,” said Bruce Gilpin, COO of MobiTV. “Our work with Media Excel enables us to offer a turnkey system for world-class video delivery over IP networks.”
