Medio, mInfo team up for mobile search and advertising platform in China

Medio Systems and the People’s Republic of China’s mInfo will jointly develop a mobile search, advertising and content delivery platform for the Chinese market.

The platform will feature natural language mobile searching in both Chinese and English via SMS, WAP and instant messaging. The companies reported that the use of natural-language queries was an ideal fit for the Chinese market, where SMS use is widespread and people feel most comfortable phrasing mobile search queries informally. By returning direct answers to search queries instead of links, and by personalizing recommendations and advertising for each user, mobile subscribers using the mInfo/Medio search solution in China will find a simple-to-use experience and highly relevant results when and where they need them.
