MEDIA BROADCAST expands opportunities for Austrian service providers, operators

Last month MEDIA BROADCAST, operator of Austria’s MUX D DVB-H mobile TV service, completed the third phase of its network expansion, extending its reach to 53 percent of Austria's population. This meets KommAustria’s service mandate well in advance of the agency's January 2009 license deadline and exceeds the 50 percent supply target.

With new DVB-H transmitter locations at Wien-Himmelhof, Graz-Schöckl, Baden-Hartberg, Mattersburg-Heuberg, Steyr-Troeschberg and Bregenz-Lauterach, MUX D offers a wider range of services: 15 TV programs — four specially formatted for mobile viewers — and five new radio channels.

The early launch gives MEDIA BROADCAST's service partners an even better basis for marketing their services to mobile customers by the end of the year," according to the company's managing directors Bertold Heil and Henrik Rinnerts.
