8Madrid Channel automates operations with Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach Systems' Neptune automation system is helping streamline operations at the 8Madrid movie channel. Enrique Cerezo owns the new channel. The company will generate funding via advertisement and interactive services such as SMS voting and remote control selection.

The hardware-redundant Neptune system at 8Madrid handles the playout of up to 11 channels while controlling a number of devices including a 13-port Avid Technology MediaStream server, multiple VTRs, a Grass Valley Trinix router, several Albala logo generators and an Avid DekoCast system. The Pebble Beach automation also interfaces to the traffic and archive control software from Spanish software manufacturer Createcna.
