Mackie unveils d8b Version 5.0

Version 5.0 of the recording console includes an updated graphical user interface (GUI) for improved navigation, a HUI emulation layer and surround monitoring control.

Mackie Designs has upgraded its Digital 8-bus (d8b) recording console Version 5.0.

Version 5.0 includes an updated graphical user interface (GUI) for improved navigation, a HUI emulation layer and surround monitoring control.

The Human User Interface (HUI) layer allows the d8b to function as an automated control surface with I/O for digital audio workstation (DAW) platforms.

The new production tools include on-screen help and track sheets and channel notes. Export as html files for sharing session information with other users.

Other features include:

  • Independent surround monitoring level controls and on-surface surround monitor control

  • An updated GUI (graphical user interface)

  • A new plug-in chaining capability permits "daisy-chaining" of up to four plug-ins for one send. Users can double, triple or quadruple the number of plug-ins assigned to one input

Version 5.0 is now shipping with all new d8b consoles. Version 5.0 is a free upgrade to anyone that purchased their d8b after November 15, 2002. It is currently available as a download from www.mackie.com.
