Las Vegas stations select Bitcentral for file-based news production

Bitcentral announced that its Precis news production system would soon be in operation at three television stations in Las Vegas.

The file-based system is a turnkey play-to-air digital news management system that can be integrated with third-party newsroom computer systems, such as Avid’s iNEWS and the AP’s ENPS. The system is browser-based, so it is highly scalable, with virtually no limits on the number of users that can access it. The system delivers an integrated online archive with inexpensive commodity storage for SD or HD video content.

KTNV-TV, the ABC affiliate, deployed an SD system in January; KLAS-TV, CBS affiliate, operates a similar system that is used to shoot, edit, play out and archive HD video; and KVBC-TV, the NBC affiliate, will deploy the system soon.
