KRNV launches News 4 in HD

KRNV News 4, the NBC affiliate in Reno, NV, has launched its newscasts and other locally originated programming in high definition.

The station previously provided NBC Network programming in HD and has now expanded its facility to provide all of its local newscasts in HD as well.

KRNV News 4 began planning for its HD implementation in February 2005 with actual construction beginning in August 2006. The station’s HD newscast launch is the culmination of a substantial infrastructure upgrade to high definition. The launch adds KRNV to the small but growing number of local stations nationwide that have begun production of local news in HD.
