Jeff Briden discusses DVB-S2 test results

Is it really possible to improve efficiency in the transmission of satellite signals for contribution or distribution by employing DVB-S2 modulation?

The answer is a resounding yes, according to Sencore VP Product Management & Customer Satisfaction Jeff Briden. Briden presented a poster at the just concluded IBC2011 convention in Amsterdam explaining the results of a recent test of DVB-S2 modulation and its impact on bandwidth efficiency with a major U.S. player in satellite television.

In this video interview shot at the Sencore booth, Briden discusses the poster and explains the test, the results and what greater efficiencies mean from an operational and economic point of view.
