Irdeto Access wins global content security contract with ABS-CBN

Irdeto Access, a provider of content security software and systems announced that ABS-CBN Broadcasting (ABS-CBN), one of the largest integrated media and entertainment company in the Philippines, is migrating all of its satellite DTH customers in Europe and the Middle East to its Irdeto PIsys for digital TV content security solution. Irdeto PIsys will replace an existing content security system and help reduce lost revenue due to piracy.

ABS-CBN has deployed Irdeto PIsys at its uplink facility in Burlingame, CA, and will rely exclusively on Irdeto Access for all its satellite content security.

Designed for large operators, Irdeto PIsys is a modular content security system that can scale as the need arises. It will protect ABS-CBN’s transmission beyond its current 200,000 subscribers in the U.S. and Australia (where Irdeto Access already protects ABS/CBN’s revenues), as ABS-CBN rapidly expands its business to serve the Filipinos worldwide.

After deploying two different content security systems for several years, ABS-CBN decided to consolidate its worldwide satellite operations using Irdeto PIsys for digital TV.
