Adams joins Tandberg Television in Atlanta from Terayon Communications Systems where he served as vice president of video architecture and technology. In this capacity, Adams was responsible for all aspects of architecture and technology relating to digital video. Prior to his tenure at Terayon, Adams also held senior positions at AOL, Road Runner and Time Warner Cable.

Adams has been granted eight patents in the digital video technology area. He is also the author of "OpenCable Architecture," which received the Cable Museum 2001 Book Award; and co-author of "Modern Cable Television Technology," which he contributed the chapters on digital video and home networking.
