Ikegami Editcams streamline acquisition at Canada's CHUM TV

Canada's CHUM Television has deployed a total of 49 Ikegami Editcam3 standard-definition (SD) camcorders to support its tapeless electronic newsgathering strategy for its Citytv news bureaus located in Toronto, Vancouver and Alberta. The cameras will provide footage for the Citytv newscasts as part of a new 24-hour news channel, while Avid's NewsCutter will be used for editing.

CHUM Television serves 11.5 million viewers in the province of Ontario. Citytv Toronto recently transitioned to digital nonlinear video acquisition and editing with the Ikegami DNS-33W Editcam3 tapeless camcorders.
