Hubbard Stations standardize on Grass Valley news production technology

WNYT's facility now includes seven NewsEdit nonlinear editing systems from Grass Valley for use at its Albany station.
Two Hubbard Stations have installed new Grass Valley Digital News Production (DNP) systems at their facilities. The upgrades support both stations’ analog and digital channels.

WNYT-TV, an NBC station in Albany, NY, purchased seven NewsEdit nonlinear editing systems (six software-only SC versions and one XT workstation). The purchase included a software-only system to be used at one of its satellite news bureaus in the area. The station also bought three M-Series iVDR (intelligent video digital recorder) units — one for ingest activities and two for automated playout (for four channels of live playout and to provide redundancy).

A Grass Valley Ingest Station and redundant NewsQ Pro automated playback systems with 110 hours of Grass Valley Network Attached Storage was also installed.

In order to facilitate cuts-only editing at the reporters’ and producers’ desktop, WNYT-TV also purchased 15 Grass Valley NewsEdit SCE editing and high-resolution review station licenses that will be loaded onto existing PCs throughout the newsroom.

KAAL-TV an ABC station in Austin, MN, purchased three NewsEdit SC systems, a Grass Valley NewsQ Pro and NAS system and two M-Series iVDRs.
