Harris Names EMEA Operations Vice President
Newly appointed Richard Scott will be responsible for Harris Broadcast Communications operations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) area.

Before joining Harris as vice president of operations, Scott was senior vice president of systems and technology services, EMEA, with broadcast systems integrators Ascent Media.

Prior to this, he spent five years as vice president and managing director of EMEA for Pinnacle Systems, seven years as director at Sony Corp. and eight years as technical director at Panasonic.

Scott graduated in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom.

"With more than 25 years in the industry, Richard has a superb record of accomplishments and extremely valuable experience in the EMEA region", said Harris Broadcast Communications President Tim Thorsteinson.

"Richard's well-established intimacy with the EMEA customer base will enable him to lead our expansion efforts in the region — armed with the new products and systems that our customers need to upgrade media operations for the digital and high-definition build-out", Thorsteinson said.
