German broadcaster NDR selects LYNX Technik for new multiformat studio

Public television and radio broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) in Hamburg, Germany has contracted LYNX Technik to supply multiformat and HD signal processing equipment for its first multiformat studio, NDR3, which will be used for HDTV productions.

The equipment spans the complete LYNX Technik Series 5000 product line, with an emphasis on multiformat HDTV modules including the new PVD 5660 SD/HD FLEXCARD, which will be announced to the public at IBC2008. The system also includes the LYNX centralized control solution.

The new NDR multiformat studio has scheduled its first test productions toward the end of 2008. Equipment installation is scheduled for the summer. The studio will have separate audio and HDTV video production facilities as well as dedicated recording and content ingest areas.

LYNX Technik has designed its full line of Series 5000 multiformat interface equipment to offer broadcast professionals a compact, flexible solution for audio and video processing.
