Gearhouse Broadcast purchases Leitch products

Leitch Technology will provide Gearhouse Broadcast with combined SD- and HD routing and processing equipment for UEFA EURO 2004, the Union of European Football Associations’ championship tournament to be held in Portugal beginning in June.

Gearhouse Broadcast, specialists in equipment rental, sales and project solutions, has been appointed by host broadcasters Euro Broadcast Services (EBS) to supply the 10 technical operation centers, technical staff and cabling for all the Portuguese stadiums.

The processing and distribution solution supplied by Leitch comprises multiple high-definition routing systems in various sizes, an array of video and audio distribution amplifiers and a complete base of critical interface product.

The company will also use the Leitch system during the 2004 Athens Summer Games, where the company will play a role as part of Athens Broadcast Services, an organization set up specifically to cater to the broadcast requirements of non-rights holders during the event.
