Fujinon intros new HD zoom lens field production

Fujinon has introduced a new high definition zoom lens with a magnification of 42X—a spec the company claims is the world’s highest magnification for a portable HD lens.

The new zoom includes Fujinon‘s built-in OS-Tech image stabilization system, a technology that removes unwanted movement from typically unstable long shots.

The new model HA42x9.7BERD ENG-style lens has a focal length of 9.7-410mm. A 2X extender brings it to 19.4-820mm. Fujinon said it’s the first focal length of less than 10mm for a lens in its class, making it ideal for 16:9 sports or wildlife videography.

The new zoom includes Fujinon‘s built-in OS-Tech image stabilization system, a technology that removes unwanted movement from typically unstable long shots. With an F-stop number that remains at 1:2.0 to 225mm, the lens is designed to perform well in low and changing light conditions.

The HA42x9.7BERD lens weighs under 12 pounds, with dimensions of 130x341.5mm. It is also available in a 13.5 version, with a focal length range of 13.5-570mm and 27-1140mm with a 2Xextender. Both lenses are designed to complement 2/3-inch high definition video cameras.
