Former MCI Exec to Head Discovery Communications' Global Infrastructure and Operations Division
Discovery Communications has promoted Larry Laque to senior vice president, global infrastructure and operations.

Laque's responsibilities include directing a global staff dedicated to infrastructure planning and implementation, telecom, production operations, technical facility support and network management of more than 5,000 Discovery employees worldwide.

Prior to this promotion, Laque served as vice president of IT infrastructure planning and engineering for the Silver Spring, Md.-based media and entertainment company. In his role he coordinated all hardware and technical facility issues associated with recent company move to Silver Spring.

Laque was a 20-year veteran of MCI where he most recently served as vice president of network planning and implementation before joining Discovery.
