Finnish Digita Oy selects Rohde & Schwarz for DVB-H project

Rohde & Schwarz will supply DVB-H transmitters to Finnish network operator and license holder Digita Oy, the company announced last week.

Digita Oy operates three multiplexes for its digital terrestrial broadcasting network (DVB-T). The first multiplex for DVB-H will be installed this year, and a second will follow by 2009.

Digita Oy is a leading commercial distributor of radio and television services in Finland. The company now also offers mobile TV. Finland is the second country in Europe, behind Italy, to have a commercial DVB-H network. The network is scheduled to go into operation on Dec. 1, 2006, in the metropolitan areas of Helsinki, Turku and Oulu.
