ERI issues letter of intent to purchase Andrew Corp. Broadcast Division

Andrew Corp. has received and accepted a letter of intent from Electronics Research Inc. (ERI) of Chandler, Ind., for the purchase of the Orland Park, Ill., based company’s Broadcast Products Division.

Currently, ERI is conducting due diligence, and the deal is expected to be consummated early this month. No details of the purchase price or terms of the sale were available as of press time.

Andrew’s Broadcast Division manufactures antenna systems for all broadcast applications, filters, combiners and RF components for TV and FM radio, and rigid line and components.

ERI offers a variety of products, including UHF and VHF television antennas, single and multi-station FM antennas, iBOX digital radio systems, filters, towers and lightning protection and grounding products.

Andrew will retain its HELIAX air cable-manufacturing business and serve as the main supplier of air cable to ERI. All other Andrew businesses, such as its satellite communications division, will not be affected by the proposed sale.
