Electrosonic Systems’ new server enables deployment of HD video networks

Electrosonics Systems is now shipping its new HD FrEND product, the first HDTV video server for deploying HD media networks.

HD FrEND is a series of compact network controlled interface modules that allow users to control their equipment from a network, within a facility or across a WAN. The FrEND hardware device is so small it can be concealed in wiring closets with network switches or next to the device to be controlled.

HD FrEND supports 1920x1080i, 1280x720p and 720x576/480p, along with other formats. It can exist anywhere on the network and, integrated into a distributed media system like the iMediate suite, can be used for retail, transportation, advertising, training and other applications. The device features simultaneous HD and SD output for flexibility. HD FrEND will be on display at InfoComm at Electrosonics Systems display booth # 3981.
