Doordarshan selects OmniBus for news production/playout

Doordarshan, the state broadcaster in New Delhi, has standardized its news operations on Omnibus Systems technology and systems.

This includes news automation and broadcast content management for a server-based, digital news production system that gives users the ability to search and edit clips on their desktop, running in tandem with an AP ENPS system.

At Doordarshan’s main facility, media can be viewed and manipulated even as it is still recording, allowing stories to be created and played to air quickly from the OmniBus News Playout suite. The company will also provide all the machine and broadcast device management to enable MOS rundowns created in the newsroom computer system to be played out, while retaining frame accuracy for all events scheduled within any item in the playlist.
