Digital Fountain licenses DF Raptor digital media delivery solution to Roundbox

Digital Fountain, a provider of software solutions and services that optimize digital media delivery over any network, has announced that it has licensed its DF Raptor software solution to Roundbox, a provider of mobile broadcast software solutions. The DF Raptor will enable Roundbox to provide mobile broadcast operators and handset manufacturers with an efficient content delivery solution. DF Raptor increases transmission efficiency to enable the delivery of more content over a broader geographic range.

DF Raptor is a dynamic solution currently deployed in mobile broadcast, IPTV, streaming video and file transfer applications throughout the world. For mobile broadcast applications, the system solves the inherent problems of content delivery, including signal loss/interference and delivery confirmation challenges.

DF Raptor has been adopted by several global standards, including DVB-H, DVB-IP and 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service). Other standards bodies are currently evaluating the system as a best practice standard for digital media delivery.
