Delta Wave rolls out BGAN service

Delta Wave Communications has announced the availability of Inmarsat’s Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) to operators and service companies operating in North and South America.

The new service allows mobile users to connect to their corporate networks, access e-mail and surf the Internet at broadband speeds, all while making simultaneous telephone calls to almost anywhere in the world. All of this is accomplished with an easy-to-use, compact device that can be deployed within minutes.

BGAN offers IP data speeds of up to 492Kb/s as well as offering an on-demand, guaranteed 256Kb/s data link. BGAN is accessed via a portable satellite terminal smaller than a laptop PC. The service is designed for mobile users who need dependable, secure broadband access in locations with an unreliable or non-existent telecommunications infrastructure.
