Dalet helps Polish National TV streamline operations

Polish national TV broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) has installed a DaletPlus News Suite from Dalet Digital Media Systems. The installation is designed to improve its processes for the production of sports news and program playout. The IT-based modular system has been integrated within an existing newsroom system and infrastructure.

Located in Warsaw, Poland, this integrated digital newsroom handles production, playout, and archiving of sporting events broadcast on the national Polish television network. This tapeless newsroom is to be the first step to an overall digitization of TVP’s entire infrastructure.

The Dalet production and playout platform leverages industry standard protocols such as MOS, MXF and XML to integrate a number of third-party systems including:

  • Existing newsroom computer system at TVP
  • Sony XDCAM decks;
  • Avid NLE systems;
  • Vizrt computer graphics engines;
  • Omneon Spectrum Media servers;
  • Xendata Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) systems.
