CSTV scores big on college football kickoff

Page views of CSTV’s network of 250 official athletic Web sites reached 6.4 million Sept. 2, well above the number recorded on the opening Saturday of the 2005 college football season.

The 6.4 million page views, tracked by Nielsen/NetRatings SiteCensus, accounted for the fourth-highest one-day total in network history.

The CSTV Online Network saw 800,000 more page views than on the same Saturday in 2005 — a 14 percent increase. A total of 948,000 unique browsers accounted for the page views, a year-to-year increase of more than 230,000, or 33 percent.

The first official weekend of college football coincided with the launch of CSTV’s network of more than 100 broadband channels of live college sports at www.CSTVXXL.com. On Saturday, 116 live events were available on the suite of all-access broadband channels via live video or audio.

As for CSTV.com, the Web site scored its best football Saturday ever with year-to-year growth of more than 72 percent in page views and 75 percent among unique browsers.
