Cove Broadcast debuts a digital optical link for remote camera broadcast operations

Cove Broadcast has launched the Z Link, a range of compact digital optical links for remote camera broadcast operations.

The Z Link uses fiber-optics to give transmission distances of up to six miles with no loss of video or audio transmission quality. It consists of a camera unit and a base unit and can handle broadcast quality video, return video, program audio, talk back and auxiliary data without the need for add-ons.

The versions of the Z Link feature:

  • Standard Model – Includes composite and SDI video with an option board for additional signals; is powered by a camera battery pack.

  • Hybrid Power – uses a hybrid fiber/copper cable to provide power to the camera unit; is available in two models: Hybrid 100 and Hybrid Max200.
