Chyron joins FLO Forum

With patented technology that enables the integration of live TV graphics data on mobile platforms, Chyron has announced its participation in the FLO Forum.

The FLO Forum is an organization of more than 60 industry participants that are seeking to promote the global open standardization of FLO mobile multimedia technology.

Chyron said its technology enabled on-air electronic systems to embed graphics metadata into the video signal, either in addition to or instead of, its normal function of overlaying graphics into the traditional TV picture.

This metadata then stays with the video signal as it is distributed or archived throughout the video production chain. The metadata contains information that describes the style, format and content of the graphics, enabling the video content to be re-branded and re-used in a variety of ways.
