Cepoint debuts R-Stor NAS system for broadcast and video streaming

Nashua, NH-based Cepoint Networks announced that its Rx524 Enterprise Raid system is a 6TB storage Raid-5 system optimized for real-time video storage, content backup and data archiving. The Rx524 system is tailored for high-end video broadcast and enterprise video streaming applications. Connectivity includes firewire, direct attached, network attached, (Fibre Channel, iSCSI or Gigabit Ethernet using TOE) for high throughput and maximum data transfer. This flexibility enables Rx524 to be deployed in DAS, NAS or SAN cluster environments where broadcast video bandwidth is high.

Another innovative feature is the optional capability to connect directly to tape decks in order to handle both compressed and uncompressed 10-bit SDI real-time or HDTV/SDI signals, including MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video formats.

Now video editors and IT managers can store their video and data contents in a single system that holds up to 6TB content using native Serial-ATA (SATA) drives. the Rx524 is easily scalable to 64TB.

Cepoint Networks' R-STOR plug-and-play shared array storage characteristics and its operating system independence make this NAS RAID system totally transparent in most environments. The R-STOR is one of the few Enterprise RAID storage system that easily supports multiple operating systems including Red Hat Linux 6.2, Apple Mac OS 8.0 or later, and Microsoft Windows 2000/NT4.0/XP/Me. This makes the storage system highly adaptable for most enterprise computing, video multicasting or broadcasting, telephony, and VoIP applications in Windows, Linux or Unix environments.

Redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fault-tolerant features suitable for clustering in enterprise computing environment are also included. The system complements the company's other high-availability RAID storage, NAS, SAN, SCSI RAID servers, SATA, and Fibre Channel RAID solutions for audio/video online streaming and data storage.

Cepoint Networks is a systems integration and consulting firm specializing in high-availability storage and applied computing products and services for enterprise applications, video broadcasting, telephony and telecommunications.
