Canal+ Group chooses ThalesCrypt Security for satellites

Thales has announced that Canal+ Group in France has selected its Thales’ DTV security service platform, ThalesCrypt, to secure and protect the distribution of its satellite feeds.

The ThalesCrypt technology includes Cryolite, a stand-alone scrambler that performs content ciphering and provides management interfaces; Graphite, a receiver/de-scrambler; and the ThalesCrypt scaleable access rights management platform.

Canal+ Group is France’s largest pay-television group with about eight million subscriptions to its premium channel (Canal+) as well as satellite and cable distribution platforms.
