Broadcast International integrates On2’s TrueMotion codecs into CodecSys software

Broadcast International and On2 Technologies have partnered to make real-time, high-quality video — including HD video — accessible anywhere to capable network-connected devices, including mobile devices.

Under the agreement, Broadcast International will integrate On2’s TrueMotion codecs into its CodecSys multicodec video compression software. The integration will allow content available in standard formats to be encoded in real time for delivery to a broad range of devices in resolutions significantly higher than previously possible. According to a statement issued by Broadcast International, the result will be high-quality content that can be repurposed for IP delivery to a wider consumer base in the IP video market. Consumers will be able to receive efficient full-screen, full-motion video, including HD video delivery, to their computers, laptops, cell phones and other video devices in On2’s TrueMotionVP6 and VP7 formats.
