Brick House to introduce a standards converter at IBC

Brick House Video will introduce a new rack-mounted version of its Proteus standards converter at IBC2006.

The Proteus-R, a 1RU version of the original Proteus-P portable/desktop unit will join Brick House Video's standards converter series. The range now offers an aspect ratio conversion option; 10-bit SDI, analog video and audio I/O; an improved standards conversion algorithm; and comprehensive audio synchronization facilities. The ARC option features standard-linked conversion including 16:9, 14:9 and 4:3 presets as well as manual adjustment.

The Proteus-R features a larger display, extended navigation controls and separate audio source and selection indication. The unit is fitted with all the same connections as the existing Proteus-P with the addition of XLR connectors for AES audio. It is also fitted with a universal AC supply.

Proteus converters address lip-sync errors with a fully integrated audio delay of up to 10 seconds.
